Hummr Subscriptions Explained

Subscriptions let you create longer relationships with your customers. Instead of charging users for per message for chats and per minute for calls, you can create subscriptions for chats and calls for an hour, a day, a week or a month. When a user buys your subscription, he/she will be able to chat or have call with you for free for the specified duration in the subscription. This is useful for consultancy, tutoring services etc.

How to create a subscription?

You can create a subscription by going to Settings->Subscriptions. You need to upload an image, specify a title, price, what services are included (ex. chat, voice call, video call, posts) and put a description.

How can a user buy my subscription?

Subscriptions created by you appear on your profile. User can tap on it to see full details about the subscription. User can buy the subscription by tapping the subscribe button. User pays the subscription price from his/her wallet.

What happens when a user buys my subscription?

The creator of the subscription is sent a notification about the subscription purchase. The creator has to accept the subscription by going to Settings->Subscriptions->Subscribers tab. Creator can either decline or accept the subscription. If the subscription is accepted, the subscription becomes active. The creator is not paid the subscription money just yet. The creator gets paid the full subscription money at the end of the subscription if the subscription goes well. If the subscriber raises a dispute during the subscription period because the subscripton terms were not met, then we look at the subscription terms, talk to both the parties and try to come to a mutual agreement. If the creator agrees to fulfill the subscription terms from that moment on and also agress to compensate for the losses of the subscriber in terms of extra chats, calls or posts, then the dispute is considered resolved and the subscription goes on as normal. In the worst case, the subscription money is refunded to the subscriber's wallet if the creator has not fulfilled any terms in the subscription or the remaining subscription money is refunded to the subscriber's wallet if the subscription terms were fulfilled partially, and the subscription is cancelled. If the subscription is declined then the paid money by the subsciber is refunded to his wallet. The subscriber can cancel his subcription by going to Settings->Subscriptions->Subscribed tab if the subscription hasn't been accepted yet by the creator. The paid money for the subscription is immediately refunded to the subscribers wallet if he/she cancels the subscription. A subscription cannot be cancelled after it's been accepted.

Steps Involved in a Subscription

1. User creates subscription (now on this user is referred as creator)
2. Some user buys the subscription (now on this user is referred as subscriber). The subscription money is debited from buyer's wallet but not credited to creator's wallet yet.
3. The creator sees the subscriber in Settings->Subscriptions->Subscribers. Creator has two options - Accept or Decline.
   1. Creator accepts the subscription. The subscription starts from that moment. The subscription money is not credited to the creator's wallet yet.
   1. Subscription completes successfully. The subscription money credited to the creator's wallet now.
   2. Subscriber raises a dispute during the subscription period because the subscription terms were not fully met.
   1. Dispute is resolved
   1. The dispute is not found valid as all the terms in the subscription were fully met by the creator. The dispute is resolved and the subscription goes on as normal.
   2. The creator agrees to compensate for the subscriber's loss during the remaining period of the subscription in terms of chats, calls and/or posts as mentioned in the subscription terms. The dispute is resolved and the subscription goes on as normal.
   2. Dispute is not resolved
   1. The dispute is found valid as all the terms in the subscription were not fully met by the creator. The creator does not agree to compensate and the subscriber wants to cancel the subscription. Depending on the services provided by the creator, the subscription money is partially or fully refunded to the subscriber's wallet. The subscription is cancelled.
   2. The creator didn't do anything mentioned in the subscription terms after the subscription started. In this case, the subscription money is fully refunded to the subscriber's wallet. The subscription is cancelled.
   3. Creator is unable to fulfill the terms in the subscription during the subscription period becuse of some issues. For ex. Creator is not able to get time anymore. In such a case, full subscription money is refunded to the subscriber's wallet disregarding the services provided already by the creator and the subscription is cancelled.
   4. Creator is doing his/her part in fulfilling the subscription terms but the subscriber doesn't respond to chats or calls. In such a case, the subscription goes on and the creator is considerd to be fulfilling the subscripton terms.
   2. Creator declines the subscription. The subscription money is refunded to the subscriber's wallet.
